Co-Director/Teacher Monica Zielke-Cullinane has practiced yoga since 1991 and has taught for six years in Grand Junction, Colorado and New York. In 1998, Monica traveled to India to study with B.K.S. Iyengar, Geeta Iyengar and Prashant Iyengar. She has studied at the International Iyengar Institutes in London, Paris, Amsterdam, Florence, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Los Angeles, Denver and New York. In 2001, after Monica attended the Yoga Odyssey with Geeta Iyengar in Pasadena, CA, she came to Grand Junction for another teacher training course and received her 200-hour teacher training certificate and began to teach.

In 2002, Monica took part in another teacher training course and in 2003 began to substitute teach for the Academy's previous owners, and again attended a seven-week teacher training course.

Since 2004, Monica has been teaching full-time classes, assisting in teacher trainings, and training instructors at health clubs how to teach classes safely. In October 2006 she earned her Iyengar Certification.

Monica is always involved in the "yoga scene" and has attended workshops, conferences and conventions all over the world. Over the past almost two decades she has studied with the most prominent yoga teachers in the world.

Now residing in Grand Junction with her husband and co-director of the Academy, John Cullinane, Monica is grateful for her past teachers, friends and cohorts who encouraged her to commit to the "business". She especially thanks her husband, John, for teaching her what yoga really is, and for making her dreams come true.
